I mentioned some time ago that we moved last spring. We used to live in a neighbourhood that was nestled next to the Coquitlam River.
We had our little river bank spot that we would visit each season and the woods that we would take walks in.
Realizing how much we love nature, we moved to a place where we are still next to the woods and the river,
and even more nature, abundant nature.
It feels a bit like the countryside.
It feels like living in a kind of sanctuary.
In the past we spent time on the weekends adventuring to new places,
but lately, we've just been out exploring our place. Our new place.
Completely overwhelmed with the beauty around us.
The house we are building is coming along well too. Have a peek at Mark's blog: The Build for more details.
Have an amazing week!
I would add that, while I enjoyed the natural environment in our old neighbourhood, it was limited to the area immediately along the Coquitlam River. Here, we have the Hyde Creek Nature Area--a pretty expansive woods, hatchery, and salmon-bearing creek--as well as the Pitt River dykes (a great place to see wildlife, as well as people on horseback), Burke Mountain, and Minnekhada Regional Park, home to otters, birds, bears, coyotes, and so on. Not to mention all the local farms as well. It isn't just that there is a larger area of nature here, but that there are so many varied ecosystems and land uses in such a small radius from one another. That's what I'm enjoying about Port Coquitlam.

Oh, and the best part of living there, of course, is the wonderful wife I get to share it all with.

Your new neighborhood is dreamlike! It IS like a sanctuary, complete with, um, BEARS! My eyes were not deceiving me there, right? So neat...

Yes, Robin, that was indeed a bear. We were in our van that time, luckily. We have lots of bears, cougars and other wildlife close by. Thanks so much for stopping by! You would love Canada!!

I love where you live too. How lucky you are to be surrounded by beautiful nature.
I must upload more photos on my blog, alas my home is not as pretty as yours.
